Today I was in the mood for a little emerald, a little elegance and as always a whole lotta effortless. These days when I get the urge to dress elegantly, I really need it to be easy and comfortable. I want silk and velvet caressing my skin, loose fabrics lovingly highlighting my figure, and intricate yet bold jewels to capture their own spotlight.
I’m a huge fan of emeralds. The entire spectrum of green is my absolute all time favourite colour. In fact, I grew up wishing my eyes were the colour of emeralds. Still dreaming of finding myself a pair of emerald contacts just for fun ;) The precious emerald gem actually ignites the heart chakra and is known as the “stone of successful love” enhancing friendships and romance. It helps with domestic bliss and who doesn’t need a little bit more of that in their lives! ;)
The moment I put on this beautiful Myee Carlyle fringed cape, in all it’s glorious muted emerald tones, I was transported into my heart. The colour infused it’s power upon me. It’s so easy to wear and pair with absolutely anything in your wardrobe. I feel so exquisitely elegant as it gently falls upon me. I’m transformed into something out of this world, like I’ve reached the Emerald city in Oz.
I’ve paired it with my subtle gold shimmer Thurley tunic, Samantha Wills ring, statement Lovisa necklace and ring, and Witchery necklace. My Code Love bracelet is becoming beyond versatile and it works with almost every outfit I create.
As I felt a sort of sleepy melancholy hit me last night, ready to do dinner, organise the kids for school the next day, regular routine stuff, I observed my energy and positive mindset slipping. I felt disconnected from myself, running on autopilot. This awareness though brought an exciting opening, an opportunity for me to transform this moment into something joyful and nurturing. I completely altered my course aaaaand I went into my wardrobe…as you do hehe…and to my excitement I found this attraction to all things golden. My inner goddess was just screaming to come out to play!
So off I went dressed in golden glow and flowing into the sunset. I set up my agnihotra and began with a blessing and smudging ceremony. The smell of sage awakened my senses and took me on a journey to that place of serenity within, a remembering of my magnificence, of the golden goddess that resides within each and everyone of us. I felt her emerge, empowered, heart wide open, energy streaming through every channel. I chanted a few lines of Gayatri mantra, one of my favourites, and began to feel the lightness and ease wash over me. A layering of sacred sounds emerged…birds singing, wind ever so gently blowing the leaves, and the sound of my treasured Tibetan singing bowls. The vibration of sound echoed through me lifting me higher where I no longer felt the earth holding me. We were one. I gave honour to the great mother, to father sun, to all for the nourishment we receive in this life. I tuned into the moment of sunset where I felt the veil between the day and night and the stream of light energy that pours it’s magic and healing upon our precious planet at this sacred time.
These are a few of the ways that I connect to myself, that I honour the goddess within. It’s taken me awhile over the past few years, and a little trial and error, to find what I resonated with most, what brought the greatest joy and connection for me. It can be whatever you want it to be. There are no rules in life, only the ones you make for yourself. So go make your own rules, let your inner goddess shine her glorious light, for this is an inspiration to all to allow their lights to shine too.
One of my favourite quotes by the amazing goddess herself Marianne Williamson.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Namaste ~ “I honor the place within you where the entire Universe resides; I honor the place within you of love, of light, of truth, of peace; I honor the place within you, where, when you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us.” Mahatma Gandhi
