Wind in my hair, salt on my skin, warm sand under my feet, and the sound of crashing waves….no matter where in the world I am, the beach is always my sanctuary. There is no better jet lag cure than a good salty, sandy beach sesh. Here’s a few pics from one of those magical days when we first landed in California.
Thanks for the good times, mellow vibes, and awesome twilight beach bonfires Santa Cruz :)
Does life ever feel like you are being tumbled by a huge wave? It’s as though you can’t think or breathe, like being frozen in time or stuck on a ride you don’t want to be on. I was feeling like this today…all my thoughts scattered on the near future. An overwhelming surge of adrenaline peaking in my body, focused on the never-ending list of tasks that stand before me. As a passionate and creative person I take a lot on my plate. I love to be busy and involved in multiple projects. My latest shop venture is just one of those amazing things that has brought so much creative freedom and joy to my life. At the same time it’s also brought a lot of work. I’m so happy for this, as it’s been not only a pleasure, but a learning experience for me too. Each day I’ve been practising maintaining my awareness in the now…just today. The moment my thoughts move towards tomorrow, next week, month etc. I’m getting thrashed about in that huge wave again. My breathing becomes shallow and I find it challenging to focus on any task. In these moments, rather than resisting my initial urge to retreat, I’ve been welcoming this chaos into my being. I’m breathing it all in and allowing it time to simply be. A little validation of our feelings can make all the difference. I’ve been taking lots of deep breaths, and realising this moment, right now, is all I need to focus on. Tomorrow is a new day, and I will be brighter and more refreshed for it if I don’t waste my energy stressing about it! So instead of being tumbled by life’s waves, I’m learning to ride them. I’m flowing with it all and taking it one baby step at a time.
It’s been forever since I’ve dreamt of having my own jewellery shop. A place to collect all my favourites and share them with the world. I’ve finally carved out time in my crazy life to make it my reality and I’m so excited to share it with you all. I hope you love the selection of jewels I’ve picked. I’ve carefully curated a collection based on many important aspects. It was vital to me that I only sell jewellery that is ethically made, and to work with companies with a positive ethos. I also love discovering all those amazing artisans across the globe who are just so skilled at what they do. The Goldbarr are simply exquisite at designing the most incredible jaw dropping tribal statement necklaces. Grace Bijoux seriously knows how to string anklets together like no other. And Poatri Accoutrements are above and beyond in the world of quartz crystal jewellery. The vibrational energy of these crystals is on a whole other level…just wait to you wear them and feel it! And there are many more amazing designers who all bring something beautiful and unique to my shop.
For now the collection is somewhat small, though I’m sure it will grow with time as I continue to get a feel for those pieces that I know truly belong to my little shop family. I’m so grateful and honoured to bring these magical talismans to you all and I hope you love them as much as I do :)
With festival season heating up I’ve been tuning into the vibe and so has my wardrobe. Here are a few of my favourite festival inspired looks. Hope this post gives you guys some inspiration and gets those creative juices flowing!
This post is dedicated to my amazing husband, Bobby. I’m so inspired by his unconditional love, passion and incredible photography. This shoot in particular I am absolutely loving his capture of light, love and colour. I’m so grateful to be creating my dreams with the man I love. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. Hope you are all chasing, creating and living your dreams lovelies.

This was such a fun outfit to create and wear on this free loving afternoon at the beach. Wind in my hair, jewels jingling with each step as I danced my little dance across the beach in complete gypsy style. This festival inspired look paired some of my all time favourites together – silk road tribal jewellery, spell lace via turquoise lane + the fifth element life mandala rings. This lace top is by far one of my most treasured wardrobe pieces right now. I can’t get enough if it, and such a versatile piece to style in so many different ways. Perfect with denim cut offs, maxi skirt or wear it open as a lovely light layer for those cooler summer evenings. Ahhhh summer nights…making the most of them while they are still here and drinking it all in.

Here’s a little snipper from my interview with H + W.
H+W: What advice would you have for anyone struggling to love and accept themselves?
Helen: Be easy on yourself. We are all perfectly imperfect and our unique qualities are what make us all so beautiful. Embrace the beauty that you are. Please know you are enough just as you are. You have always been enough. You are more than enough. You can let go, trust and enjoy who you are and your life.
I am beyond honoured and grateful to the lovely Happiness + Well Being mag for taking the time to interview me. It’s been an absolute pleasure from beginning to end, and the process of answering their heart provoking questions has been an opportunity for me to reflect on my life, and how grateful I am for all that I’ve experienced.

I’m feeling so very thankful today for the beautiful life I have to live. That each day I get to live my dreams and create something beautiful. Each breath I take is filled with love, filled with gratitude, for the amazing souls that I get to share this life with. My children, my beloved husband, my dear friends and my beautiful soul family following and sharing in my journey here on my blog. Each day I am uplifted by the love I feel for you all. I’m bursting with passion at the mere thought of the immense creative possibilities that await me.

Bali has to be one of my top favourite places to holiday. It’s not just the fact that it’s an island paradise with beautiful beaches, sunsets, tropical foods and scents, it’s the service and smiles that come with it that make it the holiday of a lifetime. Our recent family adventures took us first to Sanur and then to the magical Klungkung. I’m so happy to have explored different parts of Bali, both so very beautiful and unique in their own right. We stayed at 2 magnificent villas run by Villa Seriska, and I now understand why they have been voted Number #1 on Trip Advisor and won the Certificate of Excellence in 2013 and 2014. The villas, the details, the luxury, and above all the hospitality and services were faultless. As a couple of hard working parents in great need of some pampering and relaxation, we certainly received more than we could have expected. And all with a smile and gratitude.
We have been blessed to have experienced our fair share of luxury holidays around the world, but Bali always seems to come out on top. It’s all in the details. At Villa Seriska we had our own personal chef to cook us whatever we liked, catering to our own special needs and dietary requirements. A driver to take us anywhere we fancied, though we didn’t feel like leaving at all, as it was just too beautiful in our villa :) We had a wonderful manager to attend to any needs that arose…and travelling with children there are usually quite a few ;) It surely helps to make a holiday with your kids an actual holiday when you have so much help. Our lovely housekeepers were so wonderful with the children and even offered to help us with babysitting when we needed. My children fell in love with them and couldn’t wait to see them each day. They were so happy, and so were we. My wonderful husband, Bobby and I, had time to really connect. Beach walks, watching the sunset whilst talking about our dreams and aspirations and sweet kisses under the gazebo. It was all so very magical.
Since I have so many beautiful pictures from our family vacation I’d love to share, I’m going to firstly share with you our experiences in Sanur, and in my next post you’ll get to see a whole other side of beautiful Bali. Sanur is seriously the perfect place to stay in Bali if you want a little luxury, beach, shopping and dining without it being too crowded. It is so much quieter than Kuta (in the best possible way) though there is still so much to do right at your doorstep. Upon stepping out of our villa we had restaurants, bars, boutiques, beach markets and of course the beach with a spectacular view of Lembongan Island and Mt. Agung. Our 4 bedroom villa, perfect for families and groups of friends, was decked out in all kinds of detailed design perfection. Everywhere I looked I was amazed by something beautiful. The woodwork, the towel designs, the flowers, the bathrooms….it was all so divine. The gazebo, spa and pool area were definitely the best and thoroughly utilised by us all each day and night. My children were obsessed with feeding the koi fish, cannon balling off the gazebo into the pool, and the chef’s amazing food!
We can’t thank owners Audrey and Nilesh, and the beautiful staff of Villa Seriska enough for their generous hospitality and very genuine caring. It’s so refreshing and an absolute joy to stay somewhere like this. They really set themselves apart by their high standards.
I hope you enjoy these photos of our holiday and be sure to check out Villa Seriska Sanur Satu for your next Bali holiday.
