Who knew winter at Wadjemup/Rottnest Island could feel like this! So many of the bays are sheltered from the wind, and with clear blue skies, beaming sunshine, a healthy, warmth circulating from hours of fun riding my bike, I couldn’t believe it was actually winter. Rottnest truly is our own little Maldives. It has the clearest turquoise water, immaculate snorkelling opportunities, no cars, with vast trails to explore. It even has it’s very own unique wildlife, the quokka. They are the cutest and friendliest marsupials you’ll ever see. Every time I visit I discover something new. If you’re like me and not a fan of crowds, then winter is definitely the time to visit and explore. You can have an entire beach to yourself! I’ve completely fallen in love with a Rottnest winter retreat.

This staycay spot is only a 30 minute ferry ride from Fremantle. It’s such an easy and smooth transition that you’ll still feel well rested once you arrive. I stayed at the new Samphire Resort for my mid week staycation. It was the perfect respite for this busy mum. The rooms are spacious, luxuriously appointed, with all comforts considered. The service was impeccable and not something I’ve come to expect here in Australia. They’ve really hit an international standard that made the experience all the more enjoyable. And the food! Wow the food! Lontara served up some absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, plant based cuisine. I love the authentic south east Asian flavours and they nailed it on every single dish. The resort ambience is so relaxing, laze by the pool in their cabanas, by the beach club for sunset with a cocktail by the fire, and watch the sunrise from your balcony overlooking the ocean.

My days were filled with adventure. I rode to some of my favourite spots and discovered some new favourites along the way. I definitely recommend a ride out to the Basin, followed by Fays bay, Little Parakeet and Parakeet bays and if you still have some energy Little Armstrong bay. If you’re a strong rider and super fit, you can go even further around the whole island, depending on how much you want to ride vs laze upon the beach soaking up the sun. If riding is not your thing, or fitness is an issue, then grab an e-bike or jump on the hop on/hop off bus. You can see the whole island and not break a sweat. I also recommend heading towards Parker point and Salmon bay. There are some amazing views and snorkelling to be experienced here. On my last morning I enjoyed a short ride to Henrietta rocks, which is about a 30 minute walk from Samphire. It’s a stunning turquoise beach with a shipwreck. On a calm day you can snorkel here and explore the coastline.

All in all a fabulous staycation and one I’ll make sure to plan each year for a winter break. I’m filled with even more gratitude for my home and I still can’t believe I live in this dreamy part of Australia. I hope this inspires you to get out into nature and explore the beauty of your own backyard.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

Yes Yes YES! It’s that time of year! I’m so pumped this year to see my family in Melbourne for a huge reunion, to celebrate my best friend’s 40th, my Dad’s 80th and finish up with New Year’s Eve in beautiful Byron Bay! It’s been an amazing and challenging year full of wonderful lessons, personal growth and transformation. I’m so grateful for all of it and so grateful to now enjoy some down time with my precious family and friends.

Here are some fun beach pics from a recent adventure wearing a whole lot of my favorite holiday jewelry from Embella. We are tapping into the holiday vibe early as we like to do here in WA.

Sending so much holiday cheer, love, joy, peace and new year blessings to you all!

“That was her magic, she could still see the sunset, even on those darkest days” Atticus

I feel so grateful to witness nature’s creations each day as a new painting in the sky is born with every sunrise and sunset. I stroll along the shoreline, the sun kissing the horizon bidding it goodnight, with the promise of a new dawn, new opportunities, more magic. My passion and inner joy bubble beneath the surface ready to burst as I bare witness to the overwhelming beauty. I dance ever so lightly along the beach, embodied by my childlike exhilaration, and sense of total freedom to be myself. Aware and present, embracing the moment, my heart beats with the rhythm of the earth and I am home.

I hope you all get some nature time to soak up those magical sunset skies wherever you may be in this wonderful world.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

These moments are so precious….so magical….so spontaneous. I feel so grateful my passion takes me to these places to explore nature and capture the essence of this beautiful and still serenity. I danced barefoot in the warm golden light, in awe of the shimmering, iridescent ocean, and the swirling pastels in the sky. This divine moment will be etched in my memory forever. I hope you can feel the love and joy in these photos.

I’m beyond excited to share with you all today my Cosmic Love Capsule Collection, designed and co-created with the amazing Nicole Fendel Jewellery.  Together we envisioned these beautiful pieces straight from the heart, with simple yet profound inspirational messages of love. We created these cosmically inspired talismans to remind you of your deep connection to nature, to yourself, and to each other. I so hope they act as a reminder of your own beauty, and serve as something special you can share with your loved ones.

The inspiration behind the Cosmic Love collection was born from my connection, reverence and awe of nature, and the inspiring symbolism of the serpent and the moon. The serpent represents our creative life force, our ability to harness our will, and navigate the path of our dreams. We inscribed “Create the life of your Dreams” in each of the Serpent talismans as a beautiful reminder of the endless possibilities and creative power we each hold.

The moon reminds us of our deep connection to nature. Her rhythms interconnected with our own, influencing the tides, the animals, the plants and our emotions. She is a mirror of the sun’s light, illuminating our path, bringing us back to our centre, and to our hearts. As I gaze upon her beauty, I breathe in love…. find stillness in the pause between each breath…..and I breathe out gratitude. Love and gratitude for this moment, for this life, for this magic. Our beautiful moon pieces have this sentiment and energy inscribed within them, that I hope will bring you straight into your beautiful hearts.

Everywhere I look I see magic. Dust particles dancing in the light…..the changing colours of the sky….a flower opening for the first time….the full moon glowing so brightly amongst the black of night. I feel so blessed each day I get to feast my eyes upon nature’s beauty. It’s like a new painting that brings so much joy to my heart and sparkle to my soul. I hope you all have time to stop for just a moment during this busy time of year and experience the beauty and magic that is all around you.

With Love + Gratitude,

Helen xx
